Fatima Al Wahsh saw this gap and envisioned a solution. With our support, she received 150 chairs to start her own rental service. Today, for every event in the village, residents turn to Fatima for their seating needs. “I feel proud knowing that I’m helping my community while running a business,” Fatima said. Her idea has not only filled a community need but has also turned a simple concept into a sustainable livelihood.

Empowering Amneh Al Wahsh: The Village Tailor https://holylandtrust.org/advocacy/empowering-amneh-al-wahsh-the-village-tailor/ Mon, 10 Feb 2025 23:43:38 +0000 https://holylandtrust.org/?p=2647 Amneh Al Wahsh, a resident of Jub El Dib, shared a longstanding challenge in her village—there was no tailor shop. Villagers had to travel to the next town for tailoring services, which was both inconvenient and costly. Recognizing her talent, we supported Amneh by providing her with two sewing machines. Today, Amneh works from home and proudly serves as the only tailor in Jub El Dib. “I’m very happy because I’ve always known how to sew, but I never had the money to buy the machines. Now, I have my own income,” she shared with pride. Amneh’s determination and new business have not only eased life for her neighbors but have also given her financial independence.
